Ovedovitz, Monica LOUDONVILLE Monica Ovedovitz passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Albany Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by her loving children. Monica was born in Herkimer, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late Michael L. and Anna (Woroby) Murphy. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Little Falls, N.Y., and The College of Saint Rose. Monica retired from the N.Y.S. Office of General Services in 1998. She enjoyed gardening, solving crossword puzzles, watching the New York Yankees, and relaxing by the ocean in Ogunquit, Maine, and Fernandina Beach, Fla. Monica is survived by her son, David M. Ovedovitz (Donnelly Bohan); her daughter, Caroline M. Rostkowski (Kenneth); her stepdaughters, Nancy Ovedovitz, Vicki A. Wilson, and Donna J. Ritz (Peter); her grandsons, Seth Ritz (Corrine), Zachary Ritz (Paige), Peter Ritz Jr. (Alyssa), Mathew Wilson and Blake Rostkowski; her granddaughters, Susan Findlay, Ava Rostkowski, and Charlotte Rostkowski; several great-grandchildren; and her brother, Peter M. Murphy. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving Ovedovitz; her father, Michael L. Murphy; her mother, Anna Murphy; and her sons-in-law, Erik Findlay and Michael Wilson. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 25, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 4 to 6 p.m. Monica's ashes will be scattered at her favorite place along the coast of Maine.
