Miss Janice Bradley, age 102, peacefully went home on April 4th, 2022, to the Kingdom, to God the Father. Janice Bradley was born December 3rd, 1919 in Ozona Texas. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a M.S. in Education, and moved to San Juan, Texas. Miss Bradley spent her last days at the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veteran's Home in McAllen, Texas.
Miss Janice Bradley devoted her life, investing in our student's education as a high school teacher in 1941. As World War II broke out in 1942, Miss Janice enlisted in the military. She was assigned to the 1040th Army Air Force Base Unit and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. She was Honorably Discharged and she restarted her teaching career at McAllen ISD in 1949, transferring to the PSJA School District in 1951 and retiring in 1979 from Sorensen Elementary.
She is preceded in death by her parents Pollard Coleman Bradley and Josephine Putman Bradley.
Miss Janice was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Pharr, Texas where she served in various ministries and committees including, the WMU and Youth education.
There will be a Memorial Service held at FBC Pharr; 400 W. Ridge Road; Pharr, Texas on Tuesday, April 26th at 10:30 am. Graveside service will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
In lieu of flowers, Miss Bradley asked that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
