Mrs. Miriam Davis Duffey passed away Saturday afternoon, December 21, 2024, at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin after a brief illness. Miriam was born in Jackson to the late Arthur Marvin and Louise Allen Davis on Saturday, July 5, 1930. She was a 1947 graduate of Jackson High School and had a lengthy career with Avondale Mills, American Mills and retiring from American Woodmark after 16 years as Personnel Assistant. Miriam was a member of Stark Methodist Church. It was a blessing to see her in attendance Sunday mornings sharing her lovely smile. She attended the Ladies Bible Study Group at the Jackson United Methodist Church she was also a volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary of Sylvan Grove Hospital. In her spare time, she loved reading, sewing and traveling.
Miriam is survived by her daughter, Vanilu Evans & Doug Brooks, her daughter and son in law, Sallie and Allen Whitaker, stepsons, Terry & Sharon Duffey and Larry and Beth Duffey, grandchildren; Stephanie & Brian Brown, Andy Evans, Wayne & Joy Whitaker and Lacey Evans Prue along with her great grandchildren; Anthony Brown, McKenna Brown, Payton Prue, Olivia Whitaker and Maverick Whitaker. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of over 30 years, David L. Duffey and a son in law, Chester Evans.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Miriam Davis Duffey will be conducted Monday, December 23, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Rev. Bob Wooten will officiate. Burial will follow the Service in the Jackson City Cemetery. You may visit with the Family immediately prior to the Service, beginning at 11 AM.
