Minister Nathaniel Cheeks, born in Albany, GA to the late Rev. Robert and Lillie B. Cheeks on September 30, 1957. He established a solid spiritual foundation at Christ Gospel Church, Albany, GA. He also fellowshipped through the years at Seeds of Faith Church, Atlanta, GA whose leaders are Bishop David and First Lady Wanda Kimbrough.
He was an Official with the Georgia High School Association for 30 years. He also worked for A+ Electric as an electrician for over 15 years.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandchild, Maki "June Bug."
He began his eternal journey on November 14, 2020. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a devoted and dedicated wife of 38 1/2 , Ann Cheeks. Their joyous union produced 5 kids: Kawaski (Danyell) Cheeks, Tawanna (Matthew) Jones, Nathaniel (Rudy) Cheeks, Crystal "P-Nut" Cheeks, and My'Esha "Dee" and her companion, Dashoun Dixon; and the joy of their lives, Grand Kids: Navaeh "Nu-Nu", Maddox "Yellow Fella", Taylor "Tator-Tot", Kayla "Katie", Ryan "Sugga Boy", Kawaski "K.O.", and Kamille "Sugga Moma"; 9 siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, great friends who have truly been there with them through this journey.
The family wishes to say a very special "Thank You" to Piedmont Cancer Center and Encompass Hospice. "You all were simply the best!"?the Cheeks family.
The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, November 18th at 12:00 noon, Hightower's Memorial Chapel, 12651 Veterans Memorial Hwy., Douglasville, GA 30134, under direction of Bishop David and First Lady Wanda Kimbrough.
Interment will be in Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens, Mableton, GA with his sons and nephews serving as Pallbearers.
The cortege will depart from 1127 Veterans Memorial Hwy., Mableton, GA at 11:30 am sharp.
In lieu of flowers, condolences and contributions made payable to Ann Cheeks, may be sent c/o Hightower's Memorial Chapel, P. O. Box 2015, Douglasville, GA, 30133.
