Milton Yearty, 88, of Pinopolis, SC, a retired buyer for B.C. Moore's Department Stores, died Thursday morning at the Summerville Hospice House.
His funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, May 7, 2022, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until the hour of service on Saturday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Berkeley Seniors, Inc., 103 Gulledge St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
Mr. Yearty was born September 1, 1933, in Chester, GA, a son of O. V. Yearty and Della Peacock Yearty. He was a US Army veteran of Vietnam, and was a member of St. John's Baptist Church in Pinopolis. He was a former member of the North Cheraw Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Adult Sunday School Teacher for many years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and he loved animals, but he especially adored his family and friends. After his retirement, Mr. Yearty became a volunteer at the charity shop in Cheraw prior to moving to Berkeley County. He was an active member of the Berkeley Seniors and enjoyed playing corn hole. Mr. Yearty was the widower of Nell Haire Yearty to whom he was married for 60 years.
Surviving are his son, Mark Yearty and his wife, Sherry, of Pinopolis; a sister-in-law, Dell Davis of Albany, GA; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
