Mildred "Millie"J. Murdo, 87, of Concord, NH died at Presidential Oaks on Tuesday, February 15, 2022.
Millie was born on March 6, 1934, the second child of Leslie and Lena (Gingras) Knowlton in Concord, NH. She graduated from Concord High School in 1952 and went to work for the N.E. Telephone Company as a telephone operator and later for Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Millie loved to do many things, such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, making quilts and sharing her expertise with her nieces and nephews, and home improvements with her husband. Millie and Mert enjoyed traveling, especially the cross-country trip to California to move Robert and Ruthie back to NH. Millie enjoyed volunteering for RSVP program, Association of the Blind, the NH Audubon Society, NH Dental, NH Medicaid, and others.
Millie especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Sheila Wormald (Frank), her son David Murdo, her grandchildren Bryan Wormald (Jessica), NicholeWormald, and her great-grandchildren Trinity, Axel, Skylar. She is survived by her brother Robert Knowlton (Ruthie) and her sisters Jean Whitehouse (Frank), Ruth (Cookie) Corson (Dusty), and Doris Harrington (George). Millie is predeceased by Charles (Mert) her husband of 50 years, and brothers Donald and Raymond Knowlton and her sisters, Irene Carpenter, Bernice Carpenter, and Mary Ann Bisson.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Presidential Oaks for their care.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 21 from 1:00 to 2:30 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N Main St, Concord, NH 03301.
A Funeral Service will follow at 2:30pm also at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 N. State St, Concord NH.
The services at the Funeral Home will be streamed through the Bennett Funeral Home Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Millie's memory to be sent to the Presidential Oaks activity committee.
