The couple had 4 children and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past July. She was employed at Schweiger Industries in Jefferson from 1963 - 1993. She began as a sewer and was promptly promoted to sewing instructor, retiring after 30 years. She was an avid flower gardener and Millie and Jerry canned many vegetables over the years. She enjoyed playing cards, especially poker and would play sheepshead when necessary. Her family appreciated her love, compassion, patience, and sense of humor. She was a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother, and she will be missed.
She is survived by: her husband Jerry Freson of Jefferson; children Debbie (Larry) Stai, Jean (David) Schopen, and Brian Freson; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Bonnie Vergenz and Donna Freson; and too many nieces, nephews, and other relatives to name.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Alan Freson, 5 brothers and their spouses; her husband's parents, his 11 siblings and their spouses.
A funeral will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Jefferson with Rev. Christopher Raiford presiding. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church. She will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery following the funeral.
