Help us celebrate Michelle! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Michelle.
Michelle Ann Luchi, 57, of West Stockbridge, passed on December 3, 2024 at home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous 5 year battle with Atypical Mycobacterial infection of the lungs.
She was born September 15, 1967 in Pittsfield, MA, the daughter of the late Gary Hawkins and Helen (Verchot) Hawkins.
Michelle graduated from Monument Mountain Regional High School in 1985 and continued her education at BCC for the following year. Michelle married her high school sweetheart, Dominick, on June 20th 1987. Inseparable, they were best friends from the start, always joking around and made humor the biggest part of their 37 years of marriage.
She worked at several places but really found her niche, running the Shaker Mill Tavern with her husband. She hosted and ran the front of the house like no one else. Her wit and humor delighted the patrons who came, whether local or second homeowners. You could see the smiles on their faces as she greeted them and became friends with many.
Michelle took great pride in being a mom and considered it her greatest accomplishment. Education was at the forefront. She raised her two sons, not only teaching them life skills, and to be disciplined, but to treat everyone as you want to be treated, always be honest and trustworthy. And that she did.
Michelle loved animals. She had many furry visitors every night at her house, stopping by for a snack. All of them she gave names to. Many of them she would feed out of her hands while talking to them. Squirrels, chipmunks, foxes, racoons, possums, deer and bears. She did not feed the bears by hand!
She was predeceased by her father, Gary.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Dominick, she leaves her mother, Helen; her sister, Jennifer Cornwell (Dalton); her son, Dominick (Amber); her granddaughter, Annalise; and her son, Garrett (at home).
In addition, Michelle also leaves her brothers and sisters- in-law: Jeanette Tenney (Stockbridge), Gary Tenney (NC), Eugene Kinne (MA), Diane Luchi (AZ), Philip Melendez (Cheshire), Sandra and Glen Curtiss, Tom Sermini (Gt Barrington MA), Bethanne and John Pinkowski (FLA), Michael and Christi Luchi (CT), and 15 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
A service for Michelle will be at the Congregational Church in Stockbridge, beginning at 1:30PM on January 5, 2025. A Celebration of Life at the Greenock Country Club will immediately follow to reminisce. Please join us!
