Michael James Winkles of Dallas, GA went home to the Lord January 26, 2022 after several years of battling Lymphedema.
Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years, Deborah Robinson Winkles, her daughter, Michelle and husband Jim Atwood of Apison, TN, her son, Jamie and wife Stephanie Winkles of Dallas, GA, son Jesse Winkles of Acworth, GA, his sister-in-law, Theresa and husband Bruce Mowell of Marietta, GA, and his sister, Kathy Knapp and nieces of Dallas, GA.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, William and Martiele Winkles of Cedartown, GA, his brother, Randy Winkles, and stepsisters, Glenda Locklear and Shirley Swanson of Marietta, GA.
Mike was the manager at Airgas Products in Atlanta, GA until he retired in 2003. He was a man of few words, however, his 5 grandchildren brought out the "jokester" in him. Mike affectionately gave terms of endearment to grandsons, Jake "Elvis" Atwood and Jeb "Big Daddy" Atwood; grandaughters, Blakely "Sweetie Pie" Winkles, Cambrie "Big Shorty" Winkles, and Olivia "Sweet O" Winkles.
To all of Mike's extended family and close friends, I am sure we will never forget that Mike was the "Best Bean Cooker in the World" second only to his "Spicy Homemade Salsa". We will miss listening to you awesome "70's" music collection. Whenever we see an episode of "GunSmoke" on TV.
As God has promised His children, you are not in our past...you are in our future.
The song has ended but the melody lingers on.
Revelations 21:4 - "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning, crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
