Mike Webber was born on March 27th, 1940 in Los Angeles, California, the son of Edwin and Doris Webber. He was raised in southern California and attended Venice High School. Mike enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1957 where he learned to be a jet engine mechanic. In 1959, Mike was transferred to RAF bases Woodbridge and Bentwaters in England, and it was here where he fell in love with both the country of England and a young English nursing student named Angela. Mike and Angela were married on June 17, 1961 after which he and his bride returned to the United States where their 3 children; Michael F., Terry, and David were born.
Mike returned to school, ultimately earning a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, completed officer training school earning a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1969, and ultimately earned a M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder. In 1971, as a 1st Lieutenant, Mike was sent to Vietnam as a Maintenance Officer where he served in both Da Nang and Bien Hoa. Mike and family returned to Edwards AFB in California, where he was promoted to the rank of Major and worked as a flight test engineer. Upon retirement, Mike worked for Teledyne Ryan in San Diego, USAir in Pennsylvania and finally settled in the Northwest in Snohomish where he worked for the Boeing Company.
Mike learned to fly in the Northwest and purchased a light airplane which brought him great pleasure. Mike enjoyed all things aviation as well as cars, motorcycles, auto racing, and walking his beloved dog Mocha.
