Michael "Mike" Belcher, 58, of Defiance, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 27, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born on March 5 1963 to William and Ruby (Thomas) Belcher of Napoleon. He is survived by his soul mate of thirty years, Kris Winseman, who became his wife on March 4, 1995 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Napoleon by Rev. Norman Koy. He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church of Napoleon.
Mike was a jack of all trades and enjoyed keeping busy. He most recently was working as the building manager for Candle Lite Apartments of Napoleon.. He enjoyed taking spontaneous road trips, with Kris by his side, to the West Virginia Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains. He also liked camping, fishing and picnicking. Most importantly he loved his family. He will be remembered for his kind, stubborn, Sponge Bob loving , golden heart. His biggest achievement besides his children was recently becoming a noble Knight of Sealand by order of The Knights of the Sovereign Military of Sealand.
Mike is survived by his wife, Kris Belcher; "Pops" to Mike Belcher, Chase Belcher, Amanda (Garrick McElroy) Belcher and Derek Belcher and brother to, Phyllis (Gary) McDaniel, Darrell (Opal) Belcher, Patricia Brown, Barb (Bill) Rodenhauser, Donald (Julie) Belcher, Ronald "Dino" Belcher and Johnny (Lisa) Belcher. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Michael Allan; sister, Betty Maynard; brother-in-laws, Dallas Maynard and James Brown; nephews, Danni Maynard and Jimmy Brown. He is also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Carolyn Winseman.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Snyder-Wesche-Hoening Funeral Home (830 N. Scott St.) of Napoleon at 12pm with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Grelton Cemetery. Memorials in Mike's memory may be considered to the family under the care of the funeral home.
