Michael Jeffrey Meyer, Jr, 42
Born in Bridgeton New Jersey, Michael resided in Newark, Delaware most of his life. He loved baseball and knew statistics going back decades that most people could never hope to retain. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and finding those fun glitches that made it past the assembly line. He loved to read and recite back all of the valuable information he packed into that deep thinking mind of his. Extremely intelligent, he always had a fun fact or statistic for every possible occasion. He was a protector of animals and seemed to find these lost little things in their darkest hours and would nurture and love them until they were strong. Michael was a great cook who loved to experiment and feed the people he loved.
He was a sweet brother and uncle and son and nephew. When you needed help, he would always answer the call.
Shy, Michael never really made much of a spectacle of himself until the girl with the blueberry muffins entered his world. When he met Victoria he knew he needed to conquer his fear and approach her. He did and it was the happiest and most at peace with himself he ever was. It brings all of his family great joy to know that, if only for a short time, Michael knew love. His life was cut entirely too short and now his dear bride is a widow. His family vows to keep her close to their hearts and honor Michael's promises to her.
Michael is also survived by his parents Janet (John) Cherniski, Michael (Dani) Meyer Sr., sister Adrienne (Allen) Riggins, his dear nephew Ryan Brown and niece Camryn Alexander who made him immensely proud. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Services will be private and it is asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Delaware SPCA in Michael's honor.
