Michael Lynn Hendricks of Farmersville, Texas, passed away on December 16th, 2021 at the age of 66, with many family members by his side. Mike was born to Jack and Marie Hendricks in Commerce, Texas. Mike graduated from South Garland High School in 1973. He was awarded football scholarships to Henderson County Junior College and Trinity University in San Antonio.Mike married his love, Shiela McMurry, and they had three beautiful children. He went on to work as a petroleum "Landman" in leasing for over 20 years; a career that allowed him to travel throughout the United States seeing many beautiful places around the country and making lifelong friends.He loved his children and taught them how to be self-reliant, work hard and help others. Mike always lent a helping hand to any friend or neighbor in need and had a fondness for helping stranded motorists on the side of the road. Mike was a true cowboy at heart who loved cows, horses and motorcycles. He was a fifth generation Texan; a heritage he was truly proud of. He enjoyed running and was responsible for starting a family tradition of participating in the Dallas "Turkey Trot" on Thanksgiving Day. He was a passionate and loyal Dallas Cowboys fan his entire life. He enjoyed biking around White Rock Lake, going on hunting trips with his friends and taking care of the family's horses and cattle. Mike was an incredibly charismatic man who loved meeting new people, striking up conversations and most of all, telling stories. Mike was a great storyteller who uplifted and entertained everyone around him with his signature wit and tales of wild adventures. He was taken too soon and will be dearly missed. Michael "Mike" is survived by his children Michael, William and Chandler Hendricks, brother Wendell, and wife, Dee; and his sister, Lori; and numerous cousins and other loving relatives. Mike was preceded in death by his loving parents. A life memorial celebration will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Cross Creek Ranch, 3406 Dublin Road, Parker, Texas 75002 with a reception and luncheon to follow.
