My best friend and dear husband Michael Boyd Heaton, 80, passed away Wednesday February 3rd.
Michael was born on November 23, 1940.
Michael graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Fisheries and Wildlife. Michael retired from Rogers City Public Schools and went on to work for the Conservation Department in Onaway.
His passion was the outdoors, especially hunting. He was the greatest hunter I ever knew. He loved dogs and all wild life. He loved his friends and family and was always there for them when they needed him.
Michael was a very hard worker, always looking out for the Environment. He helped with the Charlevoix County Recycling department because of his care and concern for the environment.
Michael is survived by his wife Ina Coser Heaton, his two sons, Boyd & Peter Heaton, his daughter Rebecca McGeorge. Four sisters, Patty Sue Buxton, Gail Lynn (Carl) Ames, Kristine (Greg) Heaton, and Clarissa (Gregory) Wright and his Mother-In-Law, Vera Coser.
The family is requesting Memorial Donations to the Charlevoix County Hospice.
A celebration of Mike's Life will be held when COVID-19 allows sometime next summer.
Rest in Peace my dear Michael.
