SOUTHBURY - Michael John Genova, 81, passed away peacefully at his home on March 25, 2020. Michael was born in Waterbury, CT to John Genova and Rose Dispoto Genova. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan Fawcett Genova; his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jim Bates; his grandson, Michael Bates and Michael's wife Desiree Bates along with her two children Violet and Luke; his grandson, Jordan Bates and Jordan's wife Grace Painter; his daughter and son-in-law, Beth Genova and Ray Lemley along with Ray's children Caroline, Ian and Kristin. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Atty. Fred Fawcett and Martha Fawcett; his nephews Brian and Kipp Fawcett and his niece Megan Anapolle along with their families. Mike took great pleasure in caring for people through his years as a pharmacist and as a dedicated teacher. He loved Cape Cod and spent many years vacationing with his family creating cherished memories. For several years, he and Joan lived on the Cape where they had many friends. As a lover of all animals, Mike delighted in the idyllic setting of his Heritage Village home, and it eventually served as a sanctuary.
