Michael Galaida, Jr., 45, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 12, 2021 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital Fairfax, VA surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was a 1993 graduate of Bishop Hoban Catholic High School and a Graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. He led in the pharmaceutical sales industry, for over a decade, serving as a representative with PDI; and a surgical sales representative for GlaxosmothKline (GSK); and Alcon Laboratories. Following a professional career in the pharmaceutical industry, Michael was a successful entrepreneur, serving as co-owner of Clean Method, a national commercial maintenance company. Michael's love was the fullest when spending time with his beloved family and raising his four beautiful children. He passionately embraced the game of lacrosse, hockey, and baseball, as he proudly watched his children play and devoted his time to coaching. He served as an amazing role model and mentor for his children and so many others. Michael was also an avid hunter and fisherman who loved boating with friends and riding motorcycles with family. He was a dedicated, competitive body builder and personal fitness trainer who was passionate about exercise, healthy lifestyles, and living the best life possible. He loved the beach; amazing sunrises and sunsets; and many genres of music, especially country music.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years Jill Marie Galaida (Wascavage); and his four children Braiden, Lawson, Becklin, Gia; and his beloved labradoodle, Gracie. He is also survived by his parents Michael and Patricia Galaida, Sr. (Hanover Township, PA); brother Gregory (Julianne) Galaida (Boston, MA); sister Kelly (Tom) Nealon (Hanover Township); grandfather Gerald Keating (Wilkes Barre); and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Michael is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Galaida, his maternal grandmother Genevieve Keating; and Godmother Marian Keating.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA from 6-8pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Theresa Catholic Church 21371 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, VA with interment to follow at Union Cemetery in Leesburg.
A memorial gathering will also be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Irem Temple Country Club Pavilion, 70 Ridegway Drive Dallas, PA from 4-7pm for family and friends to honor and celebrate Michael.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Sprout Therapeutic Riding and Education Center, 40685 John Mosby Hwy, Aldie, VA 20105.
In Michael's short life on Earth, he touched so many lives. His legacy will continue through his organ donation.
