Dave Foreman 75 passed away March 26, 2020 at the Cornerstone Hospice house. At the age of 7 he knew his life would be on the golf course. He spent his days hiding in the bushes at the golf course across the street from his home in Ft Wayne, Indiana. He would run out and steal the balls until the course manager finally gave him his first golf club. When he got his first set of clubs he would put them in his bed and sleep with them. He spent most of his childhood playing sports. He lettered in basketball, football and golf at Fort Wayne HS and held the title of best all around athlete. After graduation he attended Franklin College and the International Business College. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1965 and served in the Presidential Honor Guard under President Johnson. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1968-1969. Upon returning from Vietnam he realized his dream and received his PGA card. He became head Pro of the Fairview golf course in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. His proudest moment was shooting a 60 in the Indiana Tourney in the 70's. He regained his amateur status in 1975.
He is survived by his wife Karen of 37 years and his two daughters Christine Vandine (Doug) and Sharon Rabb (Robbie), 5 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grand child. After retiring as an account executive in outside printing sales he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his wife in their houseboat on Lake Raystown. They moved from Bellefonte, PA to the Villages in 2012. Dave was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post 347. He was elected Mayor of Picture Rocks, Pa in 1977. He was a senior sleuth for Seniors vs Crime under the office of the Attorney General. He was on the board of directors of the Vietnam Vets and a member of the Sweet Caroline's. Dave loved his golf, fishing, mowing lawns, and kayaking. His greatest pleasure was working with the Vietnam Vets and helping his neighbors. He was in charge of putting out the flags in the neighborhood and the birthday signs. He will be missed by everyone who knew him and all the dogs looking for their treats. His ashes will be scattered in the memory garden at Bushnell National Cemetery following his Military memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to The Vietnam Veterans of America(VVA 1036) Chapter 1036, PO Box 842, Oxford, Fl. 34484 or the local animal shelter.
