Michael A. DeCoff, 54 of Barnard, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 22, 2022 at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born March 21, 1967 in Hanover, NH; the son of Andrew and Nancy (Benson) DeCoff. He was raised in Barnard and Pomfret and graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 1986 where he received many awards playing football. He came to Barnard from Pomfret in 1993 and was married to Dawn Waters in North Pomfret on June 8, 1991. Michael had worked at the Hall Farm in Reading, for Vermont State Highway Department, Rossi Trucking, Dales Homes,andfor the past 11 years,Weglarz Property Service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, sugar enthusiast, woodworking hobbyist, sports fan (especially the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox), and enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones.
Survivors include his wife Dawn DeCoff and daughter Hayley DeCoff both of Barnard; grandmother Barbara "Nana" ChaseGilbertof Pomfret; father Andrew DeCoff and wife Marie of Stony Point, NC; sister Katrina DeCoff-Webster and husband Timothy of Strafford. He was predeceased by his mother NancyBenson DeCoffand by grandparents Orville DeCoff and Everett & MarjorieBenson.
Graveside Services at Branchview Cemetery in South Royalton and Memorial Services at Barnard Town Hall will be announced in the Spring. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Brain Injury Association of Vermont, 1 Derby Lane, Suite 2, Waterbury, VT 05676 in memory of Nancy Benson.
