Meyer R. "Bob" Sonneborn Jr.

Meyer R. "Bob" Sonneborn, Jr., 70, of Myrtle Beach, SC, died Monday, January 11, 2021, following a courageous two year battle with giant cell myocarditis.

Bob was born in Wheeling, WV to the late Loreen and Meyer R. Sonneborn. Bob graduated in 1968 from West Greene High School in Rogersville, PA and went on to graduate in 1973 from California State College with a Bachelor's of Arts degree.He was an avid golfer and Steelers fan. He was always chewing on a big cigar. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grand kids. Bob had a deep faith and loved God.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Kristine Sonneborn.

Surviving are, his wife of fifty years, Linda L. Sonneborn of Myrtle Beach; one son. Aaron M. Sonneborn (Elizabeth) of Exton. PA; two brothers, Rick Sonneborn (Marcia) of W. Finley, PA and Art Sonneborn (Angela) of Michigan; one sister Judi Beck (Ron) of Washington, PA; four grand children, Lucy Sunshine Stefan (Vinny), Abram Meyer Sonneborn, Seth Drake Sonneborn and Cora Gray Sonneborn; one great granddaughter, Ellie Kristine Stefan; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Tidelands Health, MUSC and the Hospice nurses who all showed such compassion and care for Bob.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
