Melvin Charles "Dude" Warner, 101, of Upperville, passed on December 28, 2021, at his home. He was born November 14, 1920.
Mr. Warner served honorably in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon and Trustee Boards and was an active member in all aspects of the church.
His wife, Sarah Frances Warner, preceded him in death.
Survivors include six sons, Dwight Burrell of Upperville, Richard Warner of Saratoga(NY), Michael Warner of Miami (FL), Gary Warner of Middleburg, Charles Warner of Upperville, Anthony Warner of Fayetteville (NC); two daughters Elizabeth Ross of Stephens City and Gail Lewsader of Cross Junction(VA); nineteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 6-8 p.m. at Royston Funeral Home in Middleburg, VA and again from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, January 6, until the funeral begins at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville, VA. The Rev. Philip C. Lewis will officiate and deliver the eulogy. Interment will take place at Westview Cemetery, Upperville, VA.
