Melvin L. "Spick" Gossard, Sr. , 80 Sep 12, 1940 - Jun 20, 2021 Sharpsburg, MD - Melvin L. "Spick" Gossard, Sr., 80, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Doey's House in Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on September 12, 1940 in St. James, MD to the late Charles Tuck and Ethel Wright Gossard.
He was a self-employed Farmer all of his life.
Melvin was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Bakersville, MD.
He was a member of AARP; Washington County Farm Bureau; Maryland State Farm Bureau, Improved Order of Redmen #84 of Williamsport, MD.
Melvin participated in National Pike Festival, Wagon Train; participated in various horse shows and rodeos, and participated in Tractor Pulls.
He helped out with horse pulling contests and enjoyed hunting and farming.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mavin Virginia "Abbott" Gossard; daughter Melva Rice and her husband Danny of Sharpsburg, MD; son Melvin L. Gossard, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Shepherdstown, WV; son Marion Gossard and his girlfriend Melissa Allen of Falling Waters, WV; brother Ralph Gossard, Sr. and his wife Linda of Hagerstown, MD; brother Clarence Gossard of Sharpsburg, MD; his loving grandchildren Melvin, Meghan, Christopher, Sean, Ronnie, Taylor, William, and Briar; step grandson Jon; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by four brothers Nelson, Marvin, Sam, and Ronald; two sisters Virginia and Louise; granddaughter Kirstein.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Darrell Layman and Pastor Jonathan Laye officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
