MANNING - Melva Deal Baynard, loving wife of Calvin Baynard, died Thursday, August 26, 2021, at National Healthcare of Sumter.
Affectionately known as "Mrs. B", she was born in Baxley, GA. on December 5, 1940, to the late Melvin Deal, Sr. and Opal Mullis Deal. She was a 1958 graduate of Parker High School in Greenville. However, she made Manning her home for over the past 40 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Deal, Jr.
She is survived by her Husband of 62 years of the home. Children, Mindy Hale (Larry) of Manning, Diane Geddings (Cal) of Lexington, David Baynard (Gina) of Manning and Barbie McAlister (Gerald) of Sumter. Grandchildren Bonnie Sade of Myrtle Beach, Robby Cummings (Lindsy) of Cleveland Tennessee, Jeanna Sisler (Heath) of Whiteville NC, Jesse Baynard and Aaron Baynard of Manning, Mary Buddin Creech (Landon) of Turbeville, Paige Martin (Zak) of Lexington, Kaitlin Jackson of Sumter, Trey McAlister of Camp Lejeune North Carolina, Patricia McCall (Andy) of Sumter and James Barbee of Sumter. Twenty Great and Seven Great-Great Grandchildren, and her special Pup "Daisy".
She spent many years working with The Bank of Clarendon. Mrs. Baynard also was the Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Black River Tools. She served for many years on the Clarendon County Disabilities and Special Needs Board along with the Palmetto Pride Board of Clarendon County Litter Control.
Mrs. B fiercely and unconditionally loved her family and friends. Having never met a stranger, she found joy in her Savior Jesus Christ, serving others, gardening, traveling, and singing with the Back Porch Players of Manning. She was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan for many years.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Magnolia Hall at National Healthcare and Amedisys Hospice for the extraordinary care they gave Mrs. B during this trying time.

A Celebration of Mrs. B's life will be held on September 12, 2021, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Marty Hodge officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm and other times at the residence, 1126 Mill Creek Drive in Manning.
