Mel "Chachi" Medrano, Jr., 66, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, in Webster, Texas. He was born on February 8, 1955, in Donna, Texas where he was raised by his parents, Ernesto and Antonia Longoria.
He graduated from Mercedes High School in 1973. After graduation he faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army. For the last 10 Year he has worked for Emerald Standard in Pasadena, Texas. For those that knew him they knew that his grandchildren where very special to him. He was always the first to arrive at every sporting or extracurricular activity and was their number one fan. Mel was loved by many and will be remembered by all he touched.
Melquiades was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jose Martinez, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maria Elena Trevino Medrano; Daughter, Carmen Elena Husband and Husband, Patrick; father, Melquiades Medrano, Sr; Granddaughters, Lyzette Zuniga, Valerie Zuniga, Mackenzie Lowe and Addison Husband; Grandson, Bradford Husband; along with numerous other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 with a rosary to be recited at 7 pm on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 22, 2021, at St. Pius V, 824 Main St. Pasadena, Texas 77506. Flowers are welcomed but in lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Association; American Heart Association, American Lung Association or the charity of your choice
