Rome -The family of Melissa Sue Millick, 40, regretfully announce her passing on January 8, 2022 at Rome Health.
She was born in Rome, NY on February 25, 1981 a daughter of Daniel and Deborah Pfendler Millick. Melissa defied the odds from the start weighing less than 2 lbs at birth and facing multiple obstacles in her life with great courage. She loved life and everyone she met and will be remembered for her infectious smile and how any room she entered she lit up with her energy, and laughter. She loved her family, her friends and lived life to the absolute fullest. It gave her great joy visiting with friends and family and spoiling her nephews and nieces. Melissa was a selfless individual who always put others before herself. Melissa's greatest joy in life was doing for others. Family always came first with every moment being cherished and never forgotten. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Melissa worked as a classroom aid with the Non Profit Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency (MVCAA) and loved helping the children she worked with. When it came to the children she worked with, and her nieces and nephews Melissa's favorite saying was "It is all about the kids".
Melissa is survived by her parents; her twin sister, Rebecca White and husband, Adam, their four sons, Cole, Hayden, Grayson, and Easton; a younger sister, Diana Schuster and husband, Jeffrey, their children, Brayden and Avery and a younger brother, Kenneth Millick and wife, Mary and their children, Wyatt, Caleb, and Peyton. Melissa is also survived by her boyfriend, Michael Blake and stepmom, Cindy Millick as well as paternal grandparents, Andy and Catherine Millick. Melissa is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Mary Pfendler.
Melissa's funeral will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post Street, Boonville. Spring burial St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
