Miss Griswold was born on June 11, 1965, in Amarillo to Jack and Betty Griswold and moved to Fort Worth, then as a missionary to South Africa and returning to Amarillo. She was a missionary, chaplain, teacher, historian, and genealogist. She was honored to visit every county seat in the Panhandle of Texas in her research for the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum exhibitions "The Great War and the Panhandle-Plains Region." She also researched "Cattle, Cowboys & Culture: Amarillo and Kansas City, Building an Urban West." She would want to introduce you to her Savior Jesus Christ. The party won't be the same without her. Our Mel will be missed. She left us with this: "If you are reading this...I am FINALLY with my Bridegroom."
