Melinda M. Seidel, of Largo, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2021. Melinda was born to William H. Miller Jr. and E. June Miller on February 4, 1948 in York, Pennsylvania. Melinda graduated from York Central High School in 1966. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1970. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Melinda started her career as a Trust Tax Officer with York Bank and Trust Company and later on became an Office Manager for Dallas United Methodist Church, Dallas, Pennsylvania and Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Evansville, Indiana. Although Melinda was born into a Lutheran family, upon meeting the love of her life, Neil, she became a member of the Methodist church. Her latest church involvement was with Anona United Methodist Church, Largo, Florida. As part of her lifetime love of children, Melinda served as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and a Sunday School teacher in Dallas, Pennsylvania. Melinda was most happy when spending summer vacations with family in Cape Cod, or cheering the home stretch at Churchill Downs. Melinda was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2004. She was also a member of the social committee of Lakeview of Largo South. Melinda was loved by everyone who knew her and our community is deeply impacted by this loss. Melinda is survived by her loving husband, Neil M. Seidel; brother, Alan W. Miller (Ruthie), York, PA; children, David N. Seidel (Kelly), Roanoke, VA and Laura M. Seidel-Glowniak (Scott), Saint Clair Shores, MI; grandchildren, Emma E.J. and Brinna P. Seidel of Roanoke, VA and Lillian M. Glowniak of Saint Clair Shores, MI. A visitation will be held on February 7th from 1:30-2:00 at Serenity Funeral Home in Largo, Florida. A memorial service will follow from 2:00-3:00 at Serenity.
