MELINDA BAUMAN, Euclid -- Melinda Bauman, 51, of Euclid, formerly of Seville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at home due to natural causes.
Melinda was born on February 20, 1970, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to Kenneth and Jane (Winkler) Bauman-Laurila. She graduated from Cloverleaf High School. During high school, she traveled to Denmark and studied abroad for a year. Melinda went on to complete an undergraduate degree at Ursuline College and a Master's Degree at Cleveland State University.
She worked as a High School Biology Teacher for the Cleveland Public School System for many years.
Melinda was an author and a leader of faith. She has been the caregiver for her mother, Jane, for many years. She loved to travel. She taught biology to children with the Peace Corps in Africa.
Surviving is her mother, Jane Bauman-Laurila; four brothers, Jeffrey (Barb) Bauman of Palmyra, NY, Mark (Michelle) Bauman of Broadview Heights, David (Kelly) Bauman of Knoxville, TN, and Chris (Marcie) Bauman of Columbus; and step-mother, Shirley Bauman of Wooster. Melinda was also a beloved aunt, great aunt, and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth L. Bauman.
Friends may call from 10:00 am to 10:45 am on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will take place at the Mound Hill Cemetery in Seville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Village, 10680 Steiner Rd., Rittman, OH, 44270.
