Melburne (Mel) L. Mosher, resident of Westminster at Lake Ridge, VA died May 6, 2022 at age 90.
Born in Chester, Nova Scotia, Mel entered the US Army in 1952 and retired after 21 years of honorable service. Mel worked in the Army as a Metal Foremen and served in Vietnam, Korea and Indochina. He was awarded the Good Conduct Metal (4th Award) and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret H. Mosher; parents Carl and Hilda Mosher, and young sister Hope in Nova Scotia.
Mel is survived by his godchildren, nephew Mark Parsons (Shelley) and niece Karin Parsons (Stephen Mavon), both of Halifax, Nova Scotia; his wife's siblings Ruth Schmitt (CA), Caroline Hominchuk, David Glencross (Leslie) and Robert "Alan" Glencross in Canada, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his sharp wit and turn of phrase, mischievous nature and tenacity. Mel loved to tinker and could fix anything. He restored many vintage vehicles from the 40's and 50's to better than original state. He had a special soft spot for the kitty babies that he and Margaret had over the years.
A special thank you to his friends, including the staff and residents at Westminster; his doctors; and Warren and Cindy Worth, neighbors and caring friends who supported Mel in his final years.
Services were held at Miller Funeral Home and he was laid to rest at Quantico National Cemetery.
