When Sanderson High School opened in 1968, he began working there in administration until his retirement in 1986. Upon retirement, Med and Louise relocated to the Pocomoke community where he remained until his death. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church from its opening in 1958 until his passing.
