Our beloved Maxine Rains Johnson - devoted wife, loving mom and proud grandma - was born June 4th, 1954 in Conroe, Texas and left this world on March 14th, 2021 after a hard-fought bout with Covid and pneumonia. The middle child of Harold and Verna Rains, Maxine grew up in Conroe, where she attended Conroe High School, then met and married the love of her life, loving husband of 47 years - Donald. She and Donald resided in Conroe where built a beautiful life together. In 2020, Maxine and Donald moved to Crockett, Texas to enjoy retirement together.
Maxine and Donald were blessed with two children and seven grandchildren - daughter, Tiffany Lee and husband, Ronald and children, Callie (13) and Austin (9); son, Jamie Johnson, children, Kyle Wright (27), Kaleb Johnson (22) and girlfriend Blair Bennett, Zachary Johnson (17), Paisley Johnson (3) and Hudson Johnson (2). Maxine was so proud of her great grand-daughter, Violet Wright (5). She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harold Rains, Jr. and sister, Irene Schmidt.
Maxine loved her life as a stay-at-home-mom and wife. She enjoyed many activities - bowling, fishing, cooking, sewing and antique shopping. However, what she loved most of all was being with her grandchildren. She wasn't just Grandma, she was their best friend! Each one of them had their own special relationship with her and adored her with their whole heart. Maxine always treated anyone who came into her life as if they were family; Tiffany and Jamie's friends would tell you that the Johnson's house was like a second home to many. She was motherly and she was kind. Her heart was golden and she loved fiercely. Maxine would do anything, for anybody and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
