
Maxine Marian Cook
Maxine was a fireball and quick-witted. She was a strong woman who endure a lot in her younger years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter.
When Maxine Marian (Searcy) Cook was born on April 1, 1934, in Asheville, North Carolina, her father, Floyd, was 33, and her mother, Maggie, was 29. She had seven brothers and sisters. She married Alvin Everette Cook in 1956 and they had four children together. She had a son, Johnny, from a previous marriage in which her husband adopted. Alvin had a daughter, Susan, from a previous marriage in which she adopted and raised. She died on February 24, 1998, in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the age of 63, and was buried in China Grove, North Carolina. She had nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way at the time of her death.
