Mr. Max E. Franck, of Pittsfield, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021, just five days shy of celebrating his 80th birthday. Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 30, 1941, the son of Edward and Helen Cover Franck, he graduated from high school in Quasqueton, Iowa and later earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University.
For much of his career, Max worked for John Deere. He later worked for General Systems, from where he retired after many years of service.
Among many things, Max loved woodworking, especially refinishing or making furniture. He was a history buff and an avid reader.
Max was predeceased by his beloved wife of 30 years, the former Patricia Gagner, whom he married on May 30, 1989. Patricia passed away in June of 2019. He leaves behind his children, Maxine Franck-Palmer (Jeff Palmer), Barbara Franck (Tom Fabricius), Susan Franck, and Nicole Gaynor (Karl Barnes), as well as his siblings, Esther Cox and Keith Franck. Max is also survived by his dear grandchildren, Devon Palmer, Claire Palmer, Aubrey Palmer, Katie Fabricius, and Tori Fabricius.

A celebration of Max's life will be held at a later date, when Covid restrictions are lifted and all can safely gather.
