How do you know Maurine? Please share your stories and photos, and help spread the word about this page!
Maurine C. (Thisell) Lamos passed peacefully on June 9, 2021 at her home with family by her side to send her off to be with her Savior and other family members.
She is the daughter of Maurice and Marjory (Davis) Thisell. As a young girl she hauled water from the brook to do the dishes, walked three miles to school and was an A+ student. Early in life she taught herself to play the piano, accordion and guitar and everyone loved to hear her beautiful singing voice.
Maurine started her family at a young age but showed courage as she raised seven children teaching them to be responsible, dependable, respectful and loving. Her love of music continued as she played the piano and accordion (country music) with family and friends and especially enjoyed playing hymns with "How Great Thou Art" being her favorite. Taking day trips and traveling with her husband and small dog to Florida and the whole family to Canada and Niagra Falls was great fun but she wouldn't let them out of the car at Niagra Falls for fear that they would fall in!
Hardworking and frugal, Maurine didn't need fancy and expensive items. She loved to care for her beautiful flower gardens, decorate her home and feed the birds. Many will remember her for her fried dough, donuts and especially her banana cream pie. Once the kids left home she enjoyed the company of her small dogs and also liked to sit next to the pool with her hubby and enjoy a cold beverage. Once the children were in school she became a nurses' aide and worked at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, NH for 30 years, receiving a chair for her retirement.
She leaves behind five sisters, Shirley, Norma, Roselyn, Carol & Birdie; three brothers, Milton, Marty & Mynie; her four sons and their wives, Ricky & Patricia Adams NC, Michael & Sherie Adams Franklin, Bruce & Wendy Adams Wilmot, Brent & Carolyn Lamos Andover; her three daughters and their husbands, Darlene & Tim Tilton Andover, Diane & Gene McKay Franklin and Deborah & David Poulin Andover/NC. She adored and cherished visits from her 17+ grandchildren and 18+ great grandchildren. She also leaves many cousins, special nieces and nephews.
Once again joining the love of her life most likely with a honey to do list - sorry Dad you had 14 years off now it's back to work!! We miss & love you both very much!
