Maurice L. Lavigne, 95, of Manchester, NH, died October 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester, NH on June 10, 1927, he was the son of Emile and Maria (Jolin) Lavigne. He was a lifelong resident of the Queen City.
He attended Manchester High School Central.
During World War II, he served with the United States Navy.
Maurice served with the City of Manchester Fire Department for twenty-nine years. Afterwards, he worked at New Hampshire College, in the maintenance department for ten years, until his retirement.
Devoted to his faith, he was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post #2, Legion of One Thousand Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood, and the Catholic War Veterans Chapter 1843.
Maurice was loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Those who knew him will never forget his kind, gentlemanly ways.
Family members include his beloved wife of seventy-three years, Pauline (Demers) Lavigne; daughters, Denise Vigneault and her husband, Denis, of Manchester, Donna Snow and her husband, Brad, of Lisbon, ME, and Lisa Siraco and her husband, Michael, of Manchester; four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Provost; two sisters, Sr. Pauline Lavigne, CSC and Rita Lavigne; and a brother, Gerard Lavigne.
Services: Calling hours are Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 4 to 7 PM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH
The funeral will be held Friday, October 28, 2022, with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, Manchester, NH.
Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Monastery of the Precious Blood, 700 Bridge Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
