Heritage Funeral Service - Valdese
Mr. Matthew Eugene Brooks, 54, of Lincolnton, passed away on Thursday October 14, 2021 at his residence after a brief illness.
Mr. Brooks was born December 10, 1966 in Greenwood, SC a son of Tom and JoAnne Echols Brooks. He was employed with Spantex Expandable Metal. Matthew was a hard worker and enjoyed life to its fullest. He loved to go fishing and enjoyed going as often as he could.
Surviving is his fianc? Marilyn Loretta Black, his daughter, Elizabeth Maples and husband Keith of Gastonia, parents, Rev. Tom and JoAnne Echols Brooks, brother, Tommy Brooks and wife April of Gastonia, sister, Karen Rector and husband Blair of Cramerton. Also surviving are his five future step-children, Melinda Backstrone and husband John, Sr.,Heather Arnett, James Hinson, Dorothy Black, Ruby Lightner and husband Allen and 14 future grandchildren and two future step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a future step son, William Black.
A Service of Celebration will be held Tuesday October 19, 2021 at 5:00 P.M. at the CrossFix Ministries, Belmont, with Rev. Tom Brooks, Rev. Scott Lee and Rev. Joey Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 P.M. Tuesday at CrossFix Ministries, 6131 Wilkenson Blvd. Belmont, NC 28012.
