MaryLu Wright Williamson, 66 of Federalsburg, MD, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville.
Born on August 24, 1954 in Easton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Francis E. and Mary Caroline Lennon Wright of Reliance.
MaryLu attended Colonel Richardson High School and Caroline Vocational School. MaryLu enjoyed many summers at her family's cottage on the Choptank River with her siblings, friends and many out of town cousins. Growing up, she took great pleasure in grooming and riding Ajax, her pony. Because of her love for horses, she collected horses. Later in life, she began a collection of bears.
MaryLu married the love of her life, Russell C. Williamson on December 27, 1971. Together, they enjoyed working side by side in their many endeavors. She was a loving wife, daughter, granddaughter, mother, grandmother and sister.
Besides her parents, MaryLu was preceded in death by her loving maternal grandmother, Rebekah Lennon, who raised her, her sister Sallie Wright English, and a niece, Amy Rebekah DeGroat.
MaryLu is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Russell C. Williamson, daughters, Lori Griffith and Darlene Allen, and a son, Russell E. Williamson who everyone lovingly calls "Russ Man". In addtion to her childen, she is survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. she is also survived by her step-mother, Barbara F. Wright, brothers Edward F. Wright, L. Omar, Bruce L. and Paul A. Bradley and a sister, Jane Rebekah Wright with whom she had a very special bond. She leaves a host of nieces and nephews and several cousins.
MaryLu's family wants to extend a very special thank you to everyone at Compass Regional Hospice for their loving care. We are especially grateful for their support for "Russ Man" to be able to be with his mom.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg, MD. A private service and burial will be held at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, MD.
