Maryln E. Hochstetler
WALKERTON - Marlyn E. Hochstetler passed away on Saturday, August 10 surrounded by her children who were talking about things moms don't want to hear about. She was born on July 3, 1938 in Bremen to the late Ervin and Cecil (Swoverland) Stuntz, and was 86 years-old at the time of her death. On May 12, 1960, Maryln married her love, Wyman (Hop) Hochstetler in Bremen, IN.
She accomplished her biggest goal in life as she let go of this world to be with her Lord and Savior Smiles and laughter will fill their hearts when mom and dad embrace. And because of the promise Jesus made to his believers, mom's memories and dreams are once again hers. She greeted everyone with a smile and an offer of a great cup of coffee. Maryln was famous for always wanting to help others and her cinnamon pudding! She also treasured the monthly sings with her late husband Wyman's "Hop's" family.
Maryln was co-owner of both Stuntz-Hochstetler Pines and Hop's Powered Parachutes. She was also a member of the Indiana and National Christmas Tree Growers Association; she served on the Marshall County REMC Board of Directors for 19 years; was a member of the Marshall County Tourism Board; and a proud member of the County Line Club. In 2009 she was the recipient of the Distinguished Hoosier Award.
Marlyn is survived by two children Quinn (Talia) Balmer and Della (Tim) Egger all of Walkerton; four grandchildren Bobby (Danielle) Egger, Brandon (Aimee) Egger, and Jared (Ashlee) Egger all of Walkerton and Jack Hochstetler of Chicago; and six greatgrandchildren Emma Egger, Olivia Egger, Kendall Egger, Zane Egger, Durham Egger, and Gatlin Egger. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers Howard Stuntz and Hayward Stuntz; and one sister Elnora Soales.
