Mary Janet Waller

Mary "Jan" Waller, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Wesley Life Hospice. Jan was born the daughter of Joseph and Lucille (Winters) Lehnen on September 28, 1937 in Dubuque, Iowa.

Jan worked at Principal Financial Group as Assistant Manager for 17 years, until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Alter Rosary Society, and the Ankeny Community Chorus.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband Charles Waller, daughters Brigit Barnes and Erin Barnes, step-son Brian (Sheila) Waller and Mark Waller, step-daughter Jeanne Temple, and three step-grandchildren Blake and McKenna Waller and Kyler Temple.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob (Shirley), a siblings Ruth (Bill), Donna, Marv, Ray (Betty), and Joe (Jeannette), brother-in-law Francis (Donna), and sister-in-law Kate (Marv).

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025 at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Ave., Des Moines.
