Mary Zenieth (Spears, Wooten) Turman, 82 of Milton Florida, passed away Sunday September 4, 2022.
Born in Allentown to Willie & Farbie Spears. She was a member at Avalon Baptist Church and enjoyed attending online services.
Most know her now as "Granny", but she held many titles & job positions over her 82 years. Her paid jobs included lab work at American Cyanamid, typist for a lawyer, store clerk, childcare worker for several different families, and farming. Her unpaid work included bookkeeper, advisor, mentor, advocate and ally for every family member or friend who needed one. Her church work for several churches in Milton over 50 years included, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, nursery duty, and fellowship hall/kitchen duties.
She is predeceased in death by her first husband, James "Frank" Wooten (married 6/60 - 10/86); daughter, Virginia Wooten; and second husband, Wayne Ray Turman (married 1/88 - 5/2010).
She is survived by two sisters, Verline Welch and Sylvia Hale (Tim); three brothers; Aubra Spears, Dexton Spears (Debbie), and Doyce Spears (Linda); two sons, James O. Wooten and Jacob L. Wooten (Vickie); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members and church friends.
Visitation will be Friday September 9, 2022 from 1pm-2pm at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel, 6405 Highway 90 W. Milton, Florida 32570, with services to follow at 2pm. Interment Calvary Baptist Church in Allentown.
