Mary Susan Smith, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2021 after a 15 year battle with Alzheimers'.
A private interment will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. A Celebration of Mary's life will be announced at a later date.
Mary was born in Billings, Montana on November 23, 1950 to Benjamin Franklin Smith and Clare Adele Nevin Smith, who both preceded her in death.
She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1969 and later that year married her high school sweetheart Richard D. Smith. They were married 26 yrs. before parting ways.
She had a passion for the Arts and an unbelievable talent for painting. She trained under the artist Jack Sorenson of Palo Duro Canyon for several years. Many of her paintings she sold and many are hanging in the homes of her family.
We are saddened by the loss of her life and the life she hoped to have with her family. She was a kind and loving mother of three boys who she dearly loved. She will forever live on thru the laughter and the joy she shared with us and we now share with our children. Her smile and gentleness will forever be in our hearts and memories. This beautiful woman that we were blessed to call mother, and many others to call sister, aunt and friend is finally home and free from her battle with Alzheimers'.
Mary is survived by three sons. Dr. Bryan S. Smith (Megan) and children Wyatt and Scarlett of Austin, Texas; Nicholas T. Smith (Amy) and children, Ellie, Eli, Ethan and Evan of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Jeffrey M Smith and children Rubee and Avelynn of Amarillo, TX. She is also survived by her two sisters. Victoria Weissmann (Julian) and son Michael Harrison of Allen, Texas; and Teresa Grisham (Tony) and daughter Clarissa Coker of Waco, Texas and son Timothy Grisham of Santa Anna, Texas.
