Mary Frances Smith, 89, widow of Cecil "Smitty" Smith Sr, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 8, 2025, due to complications from Parkinson's disease.
The relatives and friends of Mary Frances and Cecil Smith are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy, Charleston. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mary Frances was born in Charleston, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Mabel Baldwin. She grew up on Folly Beach and graduated from Rivers High School. She retired from AT&T and was a lifelong member of the CWA. Mary Frances loved her Lord and was a member of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church in Charleston, where she and Cecil volunteered when able. She loved and enjoyed her family, pets, friends, gardening, baking and cooking. She was a Master Gardener and volunteered at Middleton Place. She was a breast cancer survivor and volunteered for Lowcountry Susan G Komen.
Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Margaret "Peggy" Adams and her brother, Homer "Jake" Baldwin. She is survived by her children: Francine Morrow, Cecil "Bubba" Smith, Jr. and Karen Manges; her grandchild, Angel Goodrich; her great-grandchildren: Julius Perry and Castiel Perry; as well as many special nieces and nephews.
