She passed away peacefully at home on December 10th, 2021, at the age of 91.
Mary graduated from Highland Park High School in 1948 and attended SMU where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi.
She married Fred Deaton on October 10th, 1951, and they were married 62 years at his time of death in 2013.
Mary was an avid golfer with bragging rights as she had three holes in one. She was President of the Women's Golf Association at the Dallas Country Club in 1990.
She also had a passion for estate sales and started a business with a good friend called The Very Thing for many years. They handled large sales mostly in the Park Cities.
She was also an active member of The Junior League of Dallas and involved for years in their largest fundraiser "The Follies"
She was a style maven, community leader and an "OG" influencer.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother Eloise Snyder Selecman , father Dr Frank A Selecman, her brother Charles E Selecman and niece Cyndy Selecman Morgan.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Anne Deaton Dunne, son Fred R Deaton 3rd. Three granddaughters Emily Deaton, Natalie Deaton, Annie Dunne.
The family would like to thank Lee Poole, Three Oaks Hospice, and caregivers: Laverne, Judy, Linda, and Diann for all of their love and care of their mother.
There will be a private family interment later.
