Mary Jo Schillo, 79, of San Angelo, passed away on February 16, 2022. She was born on May 16, 1942 in Tularosa, New Mexico to Joe G. Gallegos and Sophia Chavez Gallegos. Mary Jo attended Tularosa High School and graduated in the class of 1961. With dreams of being a flight attendant. Prior to her marriage. She then went on to begin her career as a devoted military wife and mother. Mary Jo married Francis (Frank) Schillo of Golva, North Dakota on June 9, 1962 and had 4 children. She was a proud member of the Catholic Church and had a passion for her family, God and friends. She will always be remembered for her heart and faith in God, bingo, crafts and word find puzzles. Mary Jo was preceded in death by: Joe G. Gallegos (Father), Sophia Chavez Gallegos (Mother), Ruth Barreras (Half-sister), Benny Chavez (Half-brother), Francis (Frank) Schillo (Husband), Mary Schillo Sinclair (Sister-in-law), Veronica Schillo Schlosser (Sister-in-law), Peter Schlosser (Brother-in-law) and Margaret (Margie) Mary Rodriguez Schillo. (Daughter-in-law) Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Anthony (Tony) Joseph Schillo, Mary Catherine (Cathy)Schillo Baggett (Lannie), Margaret (Marty) Ann Schillo Barrientos (Joe) and Susan (Susie) Veronica Schillo, Frances Balbina Gallegos Gledhill (Sister); Granddaughters - Jennifer Lynn Baggett Cornett (Stewart), Sara Ann Malloy (Chris) and Josephine (Josie) Abigail Barrientos; Grandson - Joseph (Joey) Francis Barrientos; Great Grandchildren - Ty, Charlee ,Casey Cornett and Foster Malloy. Also many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. on the 22nd at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral Church. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Regency Nursing Home, Kindred Hospice Service, Shannon Medical Center and Johnson's Funeral Home.
