Mary Elizabeth Sauer, 85, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the love of her husband and children on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Mary was born on November 11, 1935 in Bremen, Indiana to the late Harvey and Ethel Boyer. On July 11, 1953 she married the love of her life Eldon Dean Sauer and shared 68 wonderful years together.
Deeply loved and greatly missed by her husband Eldon Sauer of Plymouth and children Becky Hayes of Warsaw, Tim Sauer of Warsaw, Barry (Jan) Sauer of Elkhart, Jalane (Ron) Ellinger of Plymouth and Mendy (Paul) Holderman of Etna Green. Mom was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son Dean Sauer and wife Tammy, son-in- law Tom Hayes, granddaughter Elizabeth Holderman, and siblings Junior, Charles, Everett, Blanche, Betty, Evelyn, Helen, and Edna.
Mary and Eldon resided in Bourbon for 48 years raising their 6 children until they moved to the country in Plymouth. She was a great example of a hard worker. Her jobs included ironing, cleaning offices and homes, Essex Wire, and retired from Vitreous Steel in Nappanee.
Mom loved camping, cooking, crafting, family time and spending every holiday with her family; Christmas being her favorite. She was especially cherished by her grandchildren for spoiling them with homemade beef pot pie and donuts. Mom was loving and kind giving top priority to her family.
In honor of Mary, family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday, September 28 and Wednesday, September 29 from 10 - 11 am with services following at the Bourbon Bible church 2002 12th Rd, Bourbon, IN 46504. Burial will follow at the Bremen cemetery in Bremen Indiana.
