Mary Frances Proulx, 95, of Manchester, NH found her angel wings on May 20th, 2022 in her own home, surrounded by family. Born in South Boston, MA on July 29, 1926 with her twin sister Terry McCullough at their Great Aunt Mamie's home. They were the daughters of John and Jennie (Dors) Gryval. Mary was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. Mary graduated from Bakersville Grammar School, Central High School, and Hesser Business College. Mary enjoyed her time in the PTA association as secretary, and also as room mother for both her daughter Patti and son Stevie's classrooms. She enjoyed being the Blessed Sacrament Church Scout Leader for Scout Troop 561.Mary worked as a secretary for many years. After having two children, she went back to work asa secretary and then as an underwriter at New Hampshire Insurance Company, later AIG in Manchester. Mary retired in 1988. Mary had a talent for knitting and sewing. She liked to design outfits and make them. Her love of painting began in the seventh grade at Bakersville, when she received an art award which gave her a year of free art classes. Her first granddaughter, Kelley, also received the same art award when she was in the seventh grade in Goffstown. Mary was passionate about the Ancestry Album she made for her family with many family memories and pictures in it. Mary loved her family very much and would often say her greatest accomplishment in life was being a mom and what great joy it brought to her heart. Mary enjoyed being in the company of her family celebrating special occasions together. An avid golfer, Mary played in the Women's League as a member of both The Intervale Country Club and The Derryfield Country Club. Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Steve Catudal, her second husband of 44 years, Paul Proulx, who passed on Dec. 15, 2015, her little sister Lillian Come, her twin sister Terry McCullough, and her sister-in-law Doris Gryval. A beloved mother of two children, son Steve Catudal of Goffstown, and daughter Patti (Catudal) and husband David Burl of Manchester. Cherished grandmother (Nana) to Kelley Gosselin and husband Matt, David Burl, Karen Moulton and husband Matt, Patty Simard and husband Ryan,
and Christine Marquis and husband Brandon. Great-Grandmother to Paige, Jenny, Becky, Jackson, Ava, David, Andrew, Axel, Izzy, Emily, Johnny, Joey, and Luke. Mary is further survived by her brother John Gryval, and brother-in-law Maurice Come. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester Street, Manchester.
