Mrs. Phil F. Murchison nee Mary Ann Klein of Fredericksburg passed away on Saturday, July 16th at the age of 81 years.
Mary was born on December 17,1940 to Dr. Leo and Gertrude Gitter Klein in Fredericksburg, Texas. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School where she graduated in 1959. After graduation she attended Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating she went for an interview at the Belaire Parks and Recreation Department in Belaire, Texas. The interview was with a very handsome red head named Phil Murchison. She got the job and the man. They were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church on February 19, 1966. Mary and Phil moved to her childhood home in Fredericksburg, Texas in 1975. Mary taking a job at St. Mary's Catholic School teaching and Phil at Stein Lumber Company as a draftsman. She began playing the organ at St. Mary's at an early age and picked it back up once she returned to Fredericksburg which lasted for 52 years. She also loved working with Schaetter Funeral Home helping many grieving families with the planning of funerals for their loved ones. Mary spent her whole life helping people always putting others first. She retired in 2019 and spent her time with her beloved cats in her beautiful home. She will be greatly missed by all but forgotten by none.
Mrs. Murchison is survived by two sons and spouses:
Bear and Stacey Murchison of Magnolia, Texas
Andy and Joan Murchison of Fredericksburg
Two grandchildren: William Murchison and Abigail Murchison
Sister: Sister Geraldine Klein of San Antonio
The daughter she never had Linda Reeh of Fredericksburg
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons: Anthony H. "Foonie" Murchison and William R. Murchison, Brother: Michael Klein
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, July 19th from 3 to 6 P.M. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church with a Rosary Service at 6 P.M. and on Wednesday, July 20th they will greet friends from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Mass of Resurrection at 1 P.M. with graveside services and interment to follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
