Mary Helen Villa Mendoza passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, April 13, 2023.
Mary Helen was born March 21, 1938 in Deming, NM. She served in the United States Air Force where she met and married Edward G. Mendoza. They eventually settled in North Carolina with their four children. Mary Helen worked and retired from Civil Service at Fort Bragg and subsequently worked and retired from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward and son-in-law John C. Atkinson, Jr.
She is survived by her children: Mary Mendoza Atkinson, Stella Mendoza Heaster (Mark West), Edward Lee Mendoza (Trina) and Michelle Mendoza Alexander (Scott). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 17, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Adcock Funeral Home, Spring Lake.
Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 11:00am with burial following at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Following burial services, the family will receive friends at the home of Stella Heaster and Mark West 24 Gena Lane Spring Lake, NC.
