Mary McLaughlin, 80, of Lake in the Hills, passed away on Wednesday November 13, 2019 surrounded by family in her home. She was born December 10, 1928 in Chicago to Ernest and Marguerite Essig. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Algonquin. She was a school bus driver in Barrington for over 40 years. "Grandma Mac" was extremely loving, positive, and found the good in everyone. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children: Mary Kate Drew, Helen (Allen) Morse, Deborah (Hubert) Pepin, Carol Jasper, Ann (Geary) Shaw, Dennis (Petra), Andrew (Beth), Elizabeth, Patricia Essig, Charles (Allissa), Julie, Cecilia, and Timothy. 25 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years Robert McLaughlin Sr. her sons William and Robert Jr., 2 sons in-law Tom Drew and Robert Jasper, and a grandson Ernest Boag. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin. Burial will follow in St. John Nepomucene Church Cemetery, Fox River Grove. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 PM in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 201 S.
