Mary McKray Bunkley, 70, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at her home in Orange Park, Florida. Mary was born May 16, 1949, to the late George and Jeanette (Volsteen) White in Oneida, New York and was the younger of their two children.
Mary graduated from Oneida High School in 1968. Shortly after graduation, she joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served two years, separating from the Marine Corps as a Corporal. Following her time in the Corps, Mary served as a federal employee for approximately 20 years, working at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Griffiss Air Force Base, N.Y., and Guantanamo Bay Naval Station, Cuba until she retired in 1999.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Mary was cared for and adored by all who knew her. She had an amazing zest for life that was only outshined by the love she had for her family. A homemaker for the last 20 years, she enjoyed the sun and the beach, spending time with her loved ones and traveling. She loved to stay up-to-date on current news and events and enjoyed watching murder/mystery and reality T.V. shows.
Mary was preceded in death by her brother John White and nephew John D. White, both of Hannibal, N.Y. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Guy Bunkley and her fur baby (dog), Baxter; son Jeremy Bunkley, daughter-in-law Amanda and grandson Danton; daughter Aimee Cruz, son-in-law Jesus Cruz, grandson Antonio and granddaughter Adriana; nephew James White, wife Sue and daughter Amelia.
Mary requested for intimate services, which will be kept private and held exclusively for her immediate family members. The family wishes to thank all those who have extended emotional support following her passing.
