Mary Maxine Marinaccio, age 97 of Gainesville, FL passed away peacefully in ET York Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL on April 27, 2020. Education was extremely important to Maxine, and she valued it for herself and others. She obtained her B.S. with Honors, and her M.A. in Educational Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and her Ed.D. in Counseling from George Washington University. She worked as the Dean of Women as well as Director of the Guidance Center at Hiram Scott College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and later as a College Counselor and Professor at Prince George's Community College in Largo, Maryland. She married Anthony Marinaccio in 1965 and upon retiring, they moved to Hickory Head Hammock in The Villages, FL in 1997. Maxine loved playing golf, tennis, and pickleball, and reading and music were part of her life from her childhood until her death. She also greatly valued her work with Friends of The Villages Library, and the American Association of University Women. Maxine moved to The Village of Gainesville in 2018, where she lived until shortly before her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Ritchie (Young) Reynolds; her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Doris Reynolds; and her husband, Anthony Marinaccio. She is survived by her sister, Katherine Van Cata, of La Grange, IL; her daughters and sons, Dianna Judd Ares (Thomas), of Gainesville, FL; Nancy Judd Wilber (David), of Chatham, MA; Linda Marinaccio Pucci (Bernard) of Maryville, Tennessee; Anthony Lee Marinaccio (LiBin) of Oxford, FL; step-children Warren Marinaccio (Tina) of Aiken, SC; and Karen Marinaccio Beacon of Lincoln, NE. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be planned for a future time.
